Tools, time and lots of patience
Once you started checking out the new living spaces you found some small things that need to be repaired. Well no more just pick up the phone and have several quotes to do the work! There very well might be a local handyman available but his schedule is full for several months. Now what!! There may be some of the projects you can do yourself, if you just knew what tools to use and where to get them.
Let’s start with identifying some of the basic tools you should keep around your house
Screwdrivers
Pliers
Hammer
Crescent Wrench
Wire cutters
Drill
These are just a few of the tools you should have • there are also many different types of saws, pipe wrenches for the plumbing projects and don’t forget the drill bits for the drill and how about screws to put things together with. You should take a little time to browse the tool aisle at the local hardware store so you know what is available.
When you begin working with any kind of tools be sure to wear the appropriate safety equipment for the job you are doing. For example if you are going to use a sander to clean up the splinters on that outdoor bench, you should wear safety glasses to keep that sawdust from getting in your eyes. Even if you are just moving things around in your yard wear gloves • it saves you from getting splinters, or burned because that pipe was laying out in the sun, or how about getting bit by that humongous spider! Ok so looking back maybe the spider wasn’t that big, but even the little ones can bite. So wear the gloves!
