Hi there, welcome to Rural Home Life Skills, I‘m Anna and I am so glad you stopped by •  I’m  here to help you make living in a rural area a little bit easier and a whole lot more fun.

Have you moved from the city to a rural area and feel lost, or have you been here awhile and just need some new ideas? Do you live in a stick built house or (gasp) a mobile home, do you know what the difference is? Mind you I have nothing against a mobile home; I have lived in one for lots of years, they are just built a bit different than a stick built house.

Ok so you got all moved in and decide to go take a drive and check out the neighborhood, you turn the key only to find you have a dead battery • What do you do? I can give you some tips that will help your basic vehicle maintenance and minor repairs • Now it’s time to start checking out your new home. Oops broken step, torn window screen, more fix it yourself projects to do • I can help with some great solutions • https://ruralhomecreations.com/fix-it-yourself/

Now how about those interior decor projects, yard art, or building a swing set for the kids? I have some amazing project ideas to help you out • Oh no, there goes the budget and you haven’t even thought about the groceries! Need a few tips for budgeting? Check out my home and life skills section. https://ruralhomecreations.com/home-family/

Growing up in central Nevada, I have been through all of this and more. I live where the nearest hospital is over a hundred miles away. Do I need to know basic first aid? I certainly do! • It is always good to have some basic knowledge to keep you from full blown panic attack until professional help arrives •

Now, you’re in an area where you have some local stores which are really great, but occasionally you are going to need to go to a bigger town for eye doctor, dentist or doctor appointments. Mine are all about 170 miles away so it isn’t just a quick five minute trip. I need to budget out for fuel for the truck (yep country girl, I drive a pickup) to and from the big town, appointment copay’s (if they take your insurance otherwise the whole amount due) and they have a lot bigger grocery and clothing stores. Good idea to try and stock up on groceries so don’t forget your favorite coupons. This is part of the being prepared I want to share with you • Whether it is snacks & games for the kids in the car for that long drive to and from town, the first aid and emergency kits for home and car or paperwork at your house, I can help you figure out what you need.    https://ruralhomecreations.com/be-prepared/

There is so much more that we can share; ideas, plans, hobbies, mine is photography, and crafts, what’s yours? Be sure to look for a few of my photos now and then to see some of the even more rural places I travel to here in central Nevada. https://ruralhomecreations.com/photo-gallery/    https://ruralhomecreations.com/crafts/
